Agriturismo Canale. The farm dating back to 1800 and completely restored is owned by the Ruatti family. The property is set on the gently rolling hills of the province of Pisa near Volterra, surrounded by rich and unspoiled nature, rich in history and memories of the past and is found inside the "Parco dell'Alta Valdera". The farmhouse Canale is surrounded by a green area (7000 sq. m) it has covered private parking, bocce court, table tennis, children play area and a very large swimming pool (20 x 8 mts.), set amongst olive, oleander and fruit trees. Each apartment has its own shaded gazebo with tables and chairs . The location of the Agriturismo Canale is ideal for visiting the most important cultural and artistic centres of Tuscany such as Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano, Volterra and the seaside is only 45 minutes drive away.

The property comprises two units, the main farm-house with 6 apartments: 4 one double bedroom apartments (50 sq.mts) and 2 two double bedroom apartments (75 sq.mts) and the hay barn with 2 three double bedroom apartments (80 sq.mts) restored and decorated in the original peasant style. These two apartments are suitable for large families and group of friends who wish to be together and desire more privacy .It is possible to book up to 4-5 or 6+1 people, the rates vary according to the number of people booked.

If you prefer the shade, you can relax in one of the characteristic gazebos attached to each apartment, with tables and chairs. Canale offers a very large swimming pool (open from 6th May to 7th October) equipped with six Jacuzzi style points and surrounded by olive , oleander and fruit trees. A spacious communal lounge with large fireplace, satellite TV , public telephone , books, games , use of our well-equipped laundry room etc. is available on the first floor of the main house. In the old wine cellar guests can taste our typical local products: wine, olive oil, honey. 

The farm Agriturismo Canale offers its guests "welcome " and "goodbye" dinners with tasty dishes.

In the surrounding countryside you can see many charming villages and farms, some of them tumbledown - testimony of the past rural civilization. But at the same time they are reviving, transmitting and creating moments of happiness and simple emotions, which all of us desire and you feel again that the world is finally yours, this is what you will get in an agriturismo in Tuscany.
Our farm house is just 1,5kms from the small medieval village of Montelopio. It is reachable via an unsurfaced track road in perfect harmony with the landscape, winding through vineyards and olive groves giving you a taste of the marvel of the place.
In the village you will find the restaurant-trattoria “Da Perbacco”, where signora Lucia will feed you with exclusive dishes of typical Tuscan cuisine and will also advise on the appropriate local excellent vines. In the same place it is possible to do you shopping at the food counter, to have breakfast or to have an aperitif in the cosy small bar.
For those who enjoy nature there are wonderful natural trekking and mountain bike routes (maps available in the property). For the more adventurous just 6kms from the agriturismo Canale (in the equestrian center Il Fregione ) it is possible to go horse riding along the attractive paths on the hills. It is also possible to play golf on the beautiful course at Castelfalfi (18 holes) approx 20kms
On request it is possible to arrange guided tours to the most beautiful, historic, full of art cities in Tuscany, and go on local excursions.

From Roma Autostrada A1 to Firenze, exit at Firenze Signa, take the Superstrada Fi-Pi-Li direction Pisa , exit at Pontedera, follow signs to Volterra then Peccioli, continue to Fabbrica then Montelopio follow the signs to Agriturismo Canale.

From Genova Autostrada A12 to Livorno, exit at Pisa centro, take the Superstrada FI-PI-LI direction Firenze, exit at the 2nd Pontedera exit, follow signs to Volterra, then Peccioli, continue to Fabbrica then Montelopio follow the signs to Agriturismo Canale.

How to book: GENERAL CONDITIONS
From April to September the apartments are available on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday , arrival between 16.00 – 24.00 hrs and departure between 8.00 – 10.00 hrs, whilst for the rest of the year October to March arrival and departure can be on any day of the week with a minimum stay of 2 days.

DEPOSIT:
On arrival you will be requested to pay a cautionary deposit - € 100,00, refundable at the end of your stay.

EQUIPMENT OF THE APARTAMENTS: bedroom, living room, kitchen equipped with saucepans, crockery (plates, cups, glasses,etc.) cutlery, etc.), pillows, blankets and sheets (changed every week), shower room, private gazebo.
