Il Palagetto was a roman post station of Caio Curzio – (who was a councillor to Julius Ceasar) who gives the name to the village Cozzano where travellers could rest along their way through the lonely ancient towns

We are in the heart of Tuscany between Volterra and San Gimignano, 1 hour to Florence, Siena and Pisa, close to the Natural Reserve “Monte Nero” (Black Mountain) where the water carved the “black rock”, creating along its path suggestive shapes and waterfalls, among green trees and rare Mediterranean vegetation and animals.

From Bologna:
Leave highway A1 at Firenze Certosa exit. Take federal road (Superstrada SS) direction Siena. At exit Colle Val d’Elsa Nord merge over to federal road SS 68 in direction Volterra. Before Volterra, at the km 42, turn right for Pisa onto the road 439 dir. After 9 km turn right onto the street following the sing for Il Palagetto . You’ll find il Palagetto after 1,5 km.

From La Spezia:
Leave highway A12 at Pisa airport exit. Take the Superstrada Fi Pi Li direction Florence and exit in Pontedera -Volterra. Take road 439 – direction Volterra. 5km behind La Sterza turn left onto the road to Colle Val d’Elsa. Follow the road 439 dir for about 9 km, then turn left following the signs for Il Palagetto. You reach us after 1,5 km.

From Rome:
Leave highway A1 at Val di Chiana exit. Take the federal road (Superstrada SS) – direction Firenze. At exit Colle Val d’Elsa Nord merge over to federal road SS 68 – direction Volterra.
