Agriturismo San Nicolò

The agriturismo St.Nicolò is situated to the border with the province in Siena, absorbed in the nature to little distance from small sites of archaeological and naturalistic interest. The structure dominates from a side the Metallifere Hills and from the other the necks senesi.

The structure is composed from two hamlets in stone where we live, it has recently been restructured in the respect of the Tuscan architecture. It leans out on ancient Medieval suburb of Montecastelli Pisano that it is far 500 ms. In his immediate proximities it is present a magnificent Etruscan grave.

It is found in the common of Castelnuovo Val of Cecina (in the province of Pisa), situated geographically in the tall Maremma Toscana, in a denominated zone "Metallifere Hills", rich of landscapes often in opposition among theirs that goes from coverage areas wooded to calanchi, crags and blowpipes boraciferi.

Our agriturismo is absorbed in the nature and in the quiet of the hills. Firm produces particularly biological products cereals (wheat and farro), oil and vineyard. The transformed products (ground flours on the spot, oil and wine) that you can directly be purchased in farm. The farm is surrounded by a great disposition garden of the guests I adapt for your children, the area is equipped for lunches to the open one where a barbecue and an oven it is present for pizzas. In proximity of the garden there is the swimming pool (12x6x2.40) ms with solarium.

The structure is situated to little distance from small sites of naturalistic archaeological and historical interest, easily attainable through I crossed of trekking or mountain bike. The most greater cities of art as Siena, Florence, Pisa, Maritime Mass and the sea are easily attainable with less than one now of car or through half public.

The medieval suburb of Montecastelli Pisano founded in 1184 for wish of the Pannocchieschi and the bishop of Volterra. The Fortress Sillana (XI sec.), sets in dominant position on the whole valley, it is one of the most meaningful examples of fortitudes medicee and of the Renaissance military architecture, erect to defense of the copper mines and silver that were found in the territory. It was matter of argument between the territories in Florence and Siena because it dresses again an important strategic role of control of the inside area and the mining resources of the territory.

How to reach the bed and breakfast
Exit “A1” highway Firenze-Certosa, move onto the motorway Firenze-Siena, exit at Colle Val D’elsa, and go towards Casole D’elsa, Monteguidi, after about 12 km at the crossroads go towards Castelnuovo Val Di Cecina. The farm is after 200 meters on the left. Or exit the “A12” highway at Rosignano (Livorno), move onto the S.S Aurelia towards Grosseto and exit at Cecina Nord and/or San Pietro in Palazzi, go towards Saline di Volterra then to Pomarance after passing Pomarance,San Dalmazio, after passing San Dalmazio for about 5 km you will find another crossing, go right and then right again. You will find the farm after about 200 meters on your left.
