An exquisite house in the heart of Chianti… Set high on a Tuscan hill, Casa Torre il Prato is a comfortable 13th Century house artistically restored to provide 5 – 6 bedrooms and 5 shower-rooms, and sleeping up to 12 guests. This lovely casa colonica, part of which was originally a watchtower, has uninterrupted views of rolling hillsides and medieval vistas, a stone-flagged courtyard with al fresco dining, and a swimming pool set among vineyards and olive groves. In the heat of the Tuscan summer the house remains tranquil and cool, while effective central heating is available in the winter. Helpful English-speaking owner lives nearby. Cooking and housekeeping service can be arranged. Tennis, horse-riding, (golf?), walking, indoor heated swimming pool and gym available locally. Wildlife includes occasional hares, pheasants, boar, a dog and five cats. Escorted tours and airport pick-up can be arranged. 90 minutes by car from Pisa airport, 40 minutes to Florence.
